There are a few simple requirements that you must meet if the government issues you a Federal Firearms License. It's nice to know these requirements before you begin the paperwork, so if you don't meet one of the requirements, you won't waste your time. Meeting these won't guarantee that you will get the license, but not meeting them is not an option. They are non-negotiable. These requirements include:
1) You must be 21 years old.
2) You cannot be a convicted felon or have any circumstance that would normally prevent you from buying a firearm from a retail dealer.
3) You must, in general, be a law-abiding citizen, including not previously being convicted of breaking the national Gun Control Law.
4) You must have a secure place to store your firearms and a legitimate place to do business. (In certain circumstances, this can be from your home or your personal workshop.)
5) You must abide by all national, state, and local business laws.
